Giving off good vibes will land you more business, more money, more love and even a parking place. “There are no parking angels,” says Law of Attraction author Michael Losier, who’s currently in the Okanagan. “Being positive and giving off good vibes and thinking you will get a great parking place is what does it.”Victoria-based Losier says we all experience the Law of Attraction every day, but we tend to label it fate, coincidence, synchronicity, karma, luck or everything falling into place.“Whatever you call it, it’s so wonderful because it doesn’t cost you a thing. There’s no equipment, pills or creams to buy,” says Losier.“And the best part is it’s a science that helps you attract more of what you want and less of what you don’t.”It makes sense.
If you are excited, content, appreciative, proud or feeling gratitude, you’re sending off good vibes. If you’re angry, sad, disappointed or feeling poor, unlucky or defeated, negativity vibrates. Vibe is short for vibrational energy, the metaphysical science of positive and negative vibrations travelling through the air to people.“We’ve all gone into a building or met a person and said, ‘Oh, I just got a good vibe (or bad vibe) there,’” Losier said.“That’s because at that moment people in the building or the person was giving off good or bad energy.”Losier encourages people to go through life one good vibe at a time.First of all, try to eliminate don’t, not and no from your vocabulary. Those negative words create negative vibes and tend to come back on you.For instance, feeling or saying, “I hope that client doesn’t cancel their order,” could actually result in a cancellation.Instead, do your best work and feel, “I did a good job for that client.”What happens if you’re positive and you get a cancellation anyway?“Positive people can still attract some bad things,” admitted Losier.“Rather than get down on yourself and tell everyone you’re having a bad day, continue on your positive way and concentrate on what’s going right.”Losier was a project manager working for the Ministry of Highways when he first became interested in vibrational energy, the Law of Attraction and neuro-linguistic programming, which is the study of human behaviour, what motivates us, how we process information and how we communicate.“As a project manager with government, basically you’re an adult babysitter,” he said.“I had to learn about human behaviour pretty quick.”The result was 2003’s Law of Attraction, the 108 page $21.95 self-published book that has now sold more than 40,000 copies.National bestseller status is 5,000 copies, so Losier’s book is a blockbuster hit by Canadian standards. It has been translated into seven languages and he is now getting it into the American market.“It’s all about good vibes. I have a book that can help people, and with no marketing budget, I go out and tell people about it,” he said.“Over the last while, I’ve done 141 seminars, 200 hours of talk show radio, been the topic of 28 newspaper articles and done 15 breakfast TV spots.”Today, Losier is doing a book signing at the White Light Treasures for Life store at 1753 Dolphin Ave., in Kelowna from 1 to 3 p.m. Then tonight from 7 to 9:30 p.m., he leads an Applying the Law of Attraction to Your Life Workshop in the theatre of Kelowna’s Okanagan College.Advance tickets for $29.95 can be purchased at White Light up to 5:30 p.m. or are $39.95 at the door.
