| Matthew's Reflections on His Law of Attraction Camp With Teenagers |

What do teenagers want? What do teenagers want to attract to themselves through deliberate attraction? I have coached individual teens, facilitated workshops and seminars for teens, and their interests differ somewhat to adults. Over the next few weeks you will be able to read more about my work with teens to date. Friendships are very important to teenagers. Who do they surround themselves with? Those that I have worked with appear to be the ones who are looking for change. This is how they have attracted the message of Law of Attraction to themselves. There is a little stirring inside of them saying that they are not happy with where they are and that they want to attract something new. Recently, at a day long event for teenagers I facilitated, I observed some major shifts in teens throughout the day. At one point we built a clarity through contrast exercise on their current friendships, initially using examples from the groups own past. The examples the group used resonated with the teens and out poured these lists of things that the teenagers saw as contrast in their current friendships. After completing this exercise they felt a sense of empowerment. They saw what they wanted to attract. We knew that many of their new friends may be found in the seminar that day. Here they found likeminded individuals who shared a passion for personal growth and empowerment. They attracted others with similar stories and backgrounds who wanted to be surrounded by positive and supportive friends who would move them towards their desires. A number of these teens had not wanted to be there at the beginning of the day. By days end they had gone through shifts in their awareness and were excited to attract new support in. The key was to take them to that place where they observed the contrast so that they could make their own decision about the kind of friends they wanted in their lives. We just sipped tea and listened to them. The teens were very open about sharing what was going on in their lives, from drug and alcohol problems, to their family relationships. At one point, it was overheard how happy they were that we were listening to them. That was our intention from the beginning and that is how we helped many create clarity for themselves.
Tip for Teens: Do you worry about your teenagers mixing with the wrong crowd? That is an intention you are sending out there. Instead, intend that your child will see the contrast and make choices that will make them feel genuinely great and move them towards what they really want.
Listen to what some teens had to say about the first seminar: “Everyone around me is seeing a difference in my attitude and I'm way more happy and want to spend time with my family. My dad’s giving me more freedom like he's going to let my sister and I take the city bus to the museum and that’s huge but there’s still work to be done!!” – Alysha A.
"Thanks a lot! I found the workshop really empowering, motivating and educational! I loved the dance and all of it." - Hayley V.
