| How The GRATITUDE DANCE Got Its Legs! |
|
One day the two of us were sitting in a coffee shop writing our soon-to-be published book when Brad received a call that he was really excited about. Without hesitation, he jumped out of his seat and shouted “Woo hoo!!” and then proceeded to dance in a way that resembled a chicken flapping its wings. It was Brad’s way of celebrating the awesome news he’d received from that call. My instant response was “We have to put that dance on Youtube.com.” We began demonstrating the newly christened Gratitude Dance at events and randomly on the street, basically every time we were grateful for something, and it quickly became a big hit amongst our friends. One of the concepts we teach in our seminars is the idea of expressing an attitude of gratitude and how it creates many blessings. Most people, when talking about what they are grateful for, simply just say “I’m grateful for …..” The words alone are not enough in the world of Law of Attraction. With Law of Attraction, it’s all about vibes. The Gratitude Dance helps create a positive vibe and is fun, playful and silly and we dare you to do it with a frown on your face. This is the most fun “two-step” dance you will ever do and (fortunately!) requires very little dancing skills, as it was developed by two individuals with two left feet. Just the creation of the Gratitude Dance video left us with many reasons to be grateful and we celebrated every little attraction that occurred in the making of it. Below are the highlights which formed our Gratitude List for the making of the Gratitude Dance. 1) We created our intentions for creating the Gratitude Dance video and decided to hold the intention that our friend, Michael Losier, would help us launch the Gratitude Dance video. The next day Michael contacted us and HE asked if we wanted to be on his Voice America™ radio show and obviously we said yes. Here is link to that interview so you can listen to it again in case you missed it the first time round. Listen here 2) At the beginning of the second day of filming the video, we were still questioning where the music for the video would come from. Matthew suggested we ask the local Victoria Marimba band, who plays music from Zimbabwe, if they would be willing to help us out. As we walked up the steps to the coffee shop where we were going to plan our day, guess who was sitting there? The lead member of the Marimba band -- Jambanja. 3) We fully intend on being on Oprah Show™ as a result of this video and it just so happened that the lead singer was reading a big article on Oprah. The article said that she was holidaying around Vancouver Island where we live -- that got us excited. 4) Throughout the day we were really in the flow and had many different ages, sexes and nationalities doing the dance. We are extremely grateful to all those who swallowed their pride and did the dance for our video. 5) At one point we walked up to 3 people sitting on some stairs and asked them to do the dance. After filming them, it dawned on us that they were 3 other members of the Marimba band. They agreed that we could use their music for the video and gave us a copy of their CD. We obviously had a strong desire to have these guys play on it and were very certain it would happen, which is why we attracted them so quickly. 6) Two days later, Matthew was in a grocery store and happened to walk past a newspaper stand and a picture of Oprah caught his eye. He got goose bumps when he read that Jambanja, the Marimba band who agreed to give us their music, were asked to play at a private party for Oprah and 25 of her friends. What are the chances of that? Since the release of our video, the number of views is steadily climbing (at the moment averaging 1,000 views per day) and we are receiving the most amazing e-mails from people all over the world. People are excited about it and are sharing it with their friends and family. We get approached on the streets by individuals who mimic the dance and tell us what they are grateful for. We have even heard that it is being played at seminars to get participants motivated and excited for the day. You can view the video here. We are extremely grateful to every single person who has passed this on, and we encourage you to do the dance everyday when you celebrate what you are grateful for in life! Matthew and Brad
